New dam planned for New South Wales

16 June 2014

The New South Wales Government has announced plans to fund the first new dam in the Australian state in nearly three decades.

The 90,000ML dam at Needles Gap on the Belubula River in the Australian state is to be funded from the $325 million announced for water security in the government's recent budget, Deputy Premier Andrew Stoner told local media.

The Dam - the first since 1987 - has long been suggested to help ensure water supplies in the region.
