New hydro planned for Mozambique

The Government of Mozambique has unveiled plans for two new hydropower projects in the country with a total capacity of 815MW.

According to reports from Reuters Africa, Fisheries Minister Victor Borges said Brazilian firm ATP Engenharia Ltda will build a 600MW and a 215 MW hydropower project in the central province of Tete.

Power produced from the projects is expected to be sold domestically.
