New orders in China

The first contract is with the Hunan Power Construction Co. Ltd for the supply of two 250MW Francis turbine/generator units to the Zhexi hydro power station, located on the Zishui river. The units will extend the installed capacity of the 1960s-built power station from 447.5MW (6 x 74.5MW) to 1000MW.

Delivery of the first unit is scheduled for November 2007 and the second for March 2008. The contract value is around US$35M.

The second order, worth around US$13M, is from Jianghe Mechanical-electrical Engineering Co. Ltd to supply two 60MW Francis turbine/generator units for the Zaoshi station, located on the Xieshui river. The first unit is expected to start commercial operation in June 2007.

Alstom in Tianjin, China, is responsible for the design, manufacturing, delivery and erection supervision of the equipment for both projects
