Philippine Govt plans US$296M hydro/irrigation project

The US$296M project will generate 100MW of power and will irrigate 41,7000ha of land, boosting food sufficiency in the area.

The news agency quoted Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. as saying the project fit with the Aquino Administration's moves to ensure farms and rural enterprises play a vital role in the government's drive to achieve food security and more economic growth in the countryside.
