The Canadian hydro development company said it had successfully completed Stages 1 and 2 towards securing a water licence and Crown Land rights from the province. The projects are located at the headwaters of Knight Inlet, approximately 130km north of Power River.

Plutonic plans for the two new projects to have a combined capacity of 155MW and said they are expected to generate a total of 475 GWh per year.

With its ongoing pursuit of run-of-river schemes in the province, Plutonic now has a portfolio of 31 proposed hydro schemes with a total design capacity of approximately 1.6GW to generate 5000GWh per year.

While achieving success in progressing more planned schemes, in the short term Plutonic said its objective is to achieve closure on Can$600M (US$568M) in project finance for its first schemes to be built - East Toba and Montrose Creek, which are due to commence construction over the next few months.
