The 123MW East Toba and the 73MW Montrose Creek projects are being developed in British Columbia. Budgeted at Can$550M they will take three and half years to build.
Following provincial level clearances, the schemes were cleared by three federal agencies - Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, and Transport Canada.
The federal approvals follow the projects having, last month, received approvals from the province of British Columbia's Environmental Assessment Office.
Plutonic is expanding it portfolio of proposed run-of-river projects in the province. Including East Toba and Montrose Creek, the company now has a list of 25 planned schemes with a combined installed capacity of more than 1300MW, which should be able to generate 4400GWh per year.
