Portable package To complete its Platinium series of small compressors, Ingersoll-Rand of the UK has developed the 7/51, a portable unit which introduces a new external package design and produces a free air delivery of 5.0m3/min at a rated operating pressure of 7.0bar.

Equipped with three air power outlets, the 7/51 is designed to power pneumatic tools and can be coupled with the company's new range of paving breakers. Options for the new compressor include a tool storage box, capable of holding the largest paving breaker, and a lubricator engineered to ensure the smooth running of the tool.

The 7/51 compressor is powered by the Ingersoll-Rand 41RJ7N four-cylinder diesel engine providing 46kW of power at a full load speed of 2400rpm. It offers as standard an automatic safety shutdown system for conditions such as high engine coolant temperature, high airend discharge temperature and low engine oil pressure.
