The Volkhovskaya plant is located on the Volkhov river in north west Russia. It was built in 1927.

A further upgrade contract was recently completed, in Sweden, at the Krangede plant for Fortum. The company's latest contract was to upgrade two units, having upgraded an earlier unit in 2002.

Krangede was built in 1937, and the first three of its six generating units were upgraded by ge-hydro in the late 1990s.

Separately, in Turkey, the manufacturer recently completed a supply contract for two 52.8MW radial-axial turbines for the Torul plant on the river Harshit.
