The company will conduct work, including basic design and tenders services, for the Santa Rita hydro project, situated 400km north of the Peruvian capital Lima. The project, being developed by private development company Electricidad Andina, is a run of river hydro power plant with a daily regulation reservoir, underground waterways of 16km length and an underground power house with an installed capacity of some 220MW. The project is financed jointly by Andina and Trading Emissions PLC of England.
Pacific Hydro Chile, a subsidiary of Australia's Pacific Hydro, has also awarded the business group a contract for basic and definition engineering services for the Coya project in Chile. Coya is an existing hydroelectric plant, 200km south of the Chilean capital Santiago. The project is designed to increase the plant's capacity from 39MW to 103MW. The contract is the continuation of a feasibility study carried out by Poyry in 2005-2006.
