Private dam gets go ahead

26 October 2005

The dam will be built and operated by a private company called Hydromga. The project is expected to cost US$51M and will be operational by October 2006.

Quebec's office of public hearings on the environment approved the project last year on the condition that the municipality and local Innu community be brought on board as partners. Both groups have eagerly signed on to the project.
