Public comment sought on takeover

The proposal is included as part of a discussion paper ‘The Way Forward for Water Resources Management in the Whicher Region’. It involves the proclamation of several catchments and the establishment of a common dam policy with water users to be charged a licence fee.

A spokesperson for the Department of Environment said the proposal would ensure that land holders have water for the longer term and that the Department would in a much better position to manage the flow being taken from a river or a brook.
