Rainfall powers profits at Manitoba

The company reports net income of C$192M (US$163.6M) compared to C$3 (US$2.6M) for the same period of 2004. The income is comprised of a C$216M (US$184M) profit in the electricity sector and a C$24M (US$20.5M) net loss in the natural gas sector.

Bob Brennan, Manitoba Hydro’s president and chief executive officer said: 'Water conditions and export markets have improved significantly over the past year and this will translate into higher profits for the utility.'
