RCC 2011 – register now to avoid fee increase

25 July 2011

The event program will focus on the design, construction and quality control on the use of RCC for the construction of new dams and the rehabilitation of existing dams.

The seminar portion consists of a structured course on the use of RCC in dams. It is the only such course offered anywhere in the world. The seminar will feature educational presentations by 14 acknowledged experts on RCC from the United States and internationally.

For the first time, an RCC placing and quality control demonstration will be included in the program. Plant mixed RCC will be produced, transported, spread, and compacted at a nearby aggregate quarry. Attendees will be able to conduct quality control tests after having a demonstration on the proper test procedures.

The tour will be to the 188ft (57m) high Hickory Log Creek Dam. The RCC dam has a stepped spillway and grout-enriched RCC on the downstream non-overflow portion of this new water supply dam for the northwest Atlanta suburbs.

RCC 2011 is sponsored by Schnabel Engineering, ASI Constructors, and Fall Line Testing and Inspection. This is the sixth in a series of RCC seminars starting in 1998 that have attracted attendees from 25 countries in addition to those from the US.
