SMEC welcomes the experienced team from Roadswest Engineering Group Pty Ltd to join the organisation, cementing a long history of collaboration between the two companies.

Founded in 1995, the Roadswest Group has delivered road design, civil engineering and construction management on infrastructure projects in Western Australia.

“The Roadswest team are highly respected specialists and we will be able to draw on their expertise and depth of experience to help solve our clients’ problems,” said Barry Wilson, SMEC’s Area Manager – Perth.  “It’s an exciting time for all of our teams here in Western Australia. Infrastructure improvement is key to the region’s growth. SMEC and Roadswest specialists have been working together on projects like the Denny Avenue Level Crossing Removal and the Albany Lake – Grace Road widening to make travel more efficient, safer and more sustainable for our communities.”

With a 25-year history working with all levels of Government, mining and private clients across metropolitan and regional Western Australia, Roadswest brings collective knowledge and experience that, combined with SMEC’s reach and resources, will help grow Western Australia’s engineering industry, SMEC said in a statement.

Roadswest Director Tony Saraullo said of the transition “We have had a long and successful relationship with SMEC and our integration with SMEC is a natural fit. Our capabilities and cultures align well; we are both focused on delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients into the future.”

The transition of staff to SMEC has commenced and will be finalised by the end of March 2020.
