Roberts is withholding the exact sum of its financial commitment, but the company is believed to have a ‘significant interest’ in Meander dam, which had seen its future put into doubt after proponents Tasmania Water Solutions (TWS) failed to raise the necessary funds for the project.
Out of the more than 120 expressions of interest TWS is reported to have received, very few actually signed formal contracts.
The Tasmanian government recommitted itself to Meander last week, representing another positive step for the project.
