The 16 projects would have combined installed capacity of 270MW in the Klinaklini and Mosley river basins in the centre of the Canadian province. In total, the run-of-river plants should be able to generate more than 900GWh of electricity annually.
The Klinaklini (184MW) and Mosley (96MW) clusters have completed Stages 1 and 2 of the assessment process to secure Water Licence and Crown Land rights. The assessment is being undertaken by the units of two ministries - Agriculture and Lands, and Environment.
The next stages in the project development process involves ongoing consultation with local communities and First Nations as hydrological and base line environmental studies get underway.
The hydro clusters are in the traditional territories of the Ulkatcho First Nation and the Nanwakolas Council. The sites are approximately 220km west of Williams Lake.
RoRP has a portfolio of run-of-river projects with combined capacity of 640MW at various stages of development, including the 7.6MW Brandywine Creek scheme which went into operation three years ago.
