Royal Haskoning plans new hydro for rural Uganda

19 January 2012

The plan will provide 350,000 people in poor areas of the country with renewable electrical energy and will mean that nationally the percentage of the rural population connected to the grid will increase from 6 to 7.5%.

In a statement the company said it has identified, initiated and arranged the financing for the project, and the design and development is expected to start soon. A tender process will be initiated to select the contractor to build the project.
