RusHydro reaches milestone in Ust'-Srednekanskaya build

With a total installed capacity of 570MW (4x142.5MW), Ust'-Srednekanskaya hydro plant will be the second station in the Kolyma cascade.

Construction on the project started in 1991, and commissioning of the first stage is scheduled for early 2012. This first stage includes the launch of two Francis turbines with temporary runner blades.

After completion, the plant will include a composite-type rock-fill dam, concrete spillway, and powerhouse.

The project will supply electricity for Natalka gold deposit - one of the largest in Russia.
