Russian firm to build hydro plants in Turkey

OJSC has concluded a pre-agreement with Turkey's State Waterworks Authority to build four hydroelectric power plants and is negotiating also to build the technical infrastructure for the projects, which would add around $1B of investment.

The Russian firm intends to build a 180MW plant at the Yusufeli Dam in the northeastern province of Artvin, a 600MW plant at the Gerze Dam in the northern province of Sinop, a 90MW facility at the Kavaktepe Dam in the southeastern province of Kahramanmaras and a 70MW hydro plant at the Incir dam in the southeastern province of Siirt.
