Shortlist unveiled for Batoka Gorge hydro project

Companies from China, Italy and the US have been shortlisted by the Zambezi River Authority (ZRA) to build the Batoka Gorge hydroelectric project on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe.

According to newswire reports, China Three Gorges Corp, Salini Impregilo and a joint venture of Power China and GE Hydro China have made the shortlist to buld the 2.4GW project.

The final decision on who will build the project is expected in September.
