Skanska to build Norwegian hydro plants

13 April 2010

Under the contract – valued at NOK 254M (US$43M) – the construction firm will undertake civil engineering work on the Eiriksdal and Makkoren plants, which will have a combined capacity of 340GWh.

The power plants will be constructed to capitalize on the natural vertical fall in the Høgsvatnet and Daleelva rivers, and will replace three older plants. The project also includes two road bridges.

Site work will commence immediately and the projects are scheduled for completion in three years.
