Slope Sentry

16 July 2001

US-based Applied Geomechanics has launched what it claims is a revolutionary response to landslide monitoring and early warning systems. The Slope Sentry combines measurements from time domain reflectometry, electronic piezometers and in-place inclinometers to provide information about the location of slip planes, internal ground water pressures, and the rate and direction of slide movement. It is a rugged, field-deployable recording and alarm station. It includes a datalogger, power supply, software and communications via direct cable connection.
