SMEC to design Kangaroo Creek upgrade

22 May 2013

SA Water has awarded SMEC a contract valued at over A$1M for the concept design (including physical and Computational Fluid Dynamics modelling) for the upgrade of Kangaroo Creek Dam in South Australia.

The project involves upgrading the existing spillway to increase capacity to cater for the probable maximum flood. The 65m high, 131m long concrete faced rockfill dam has a capacity of 19,000 million litres.

This project follows dam safety review undertaken by SMEC on the same project in 2006 and 2009.
