SN Aboitiz Power Group can now start work on a planned 350MW hydroelectric facility in Ifugao after receiving approval from the Philippines Department of Energy (DOE).
SNAP recently confirmed that it has officially received the approved and signed renewable energy service contract (RESC) from DOE for an integrated hydropower complex composed of three facilities: the 100MW Alimit plant, a 240MW pumped storage facility, and the 10MW Olilicon plant. The facilities will be developed under a subsidiary, SNAP-Ifugao, which is a joint venture between SN Power of Norway and AboitizPower.
The project is part of SNAP's Greenfield Development Program, which aims to grow the company's renewable portfolio by looking at potential small and large hydro projects in the Philippines, primarily within its current host communities in northern Luzon.
