SNC-Lavalin and Washington Group forge new ties

16 July 2001

Canada-based SNC-Lavalin Group and Washington Group International of the US have formed a strategic alliance to provide engineering and construction services for US and Canadian power producers.

The two companies provided no dollar value for the formation of their jointly owned limited liability com-pany, which they said would have more than 4000 employees and was already bidding on projects.

The new joint venture will focus on providing services to help meet the critical demand for additional electric generating capacity in the US and Canada.

Washington was formerly the construction contractor of Morrison Knudsen, builder of the Hoover dam.
