26 June 2014

STE Energy, part of the Sorgent.e Group, has been named best hydroelectric power plant constructor in the field of small hydro at Expo Apemec 2014.

The award, sponsored by APEMEC, the Chilean association of Small and Medium hydroelectric power plants, was presented to STE Energy's president Mario Arquilla for the company's 'exemplary commitment and achievements'.

“The award is a source of great pride for us," said Arquilla, noting that it recognizes the companies role in the international hydro sector. He said the company would continue to export its know-how and expertise to countries which have undeveloped potential, notably Central and South America.

In Chile in particular, there are a number of projects being developed by the company including the World Bank financed Mariposas and Lircay projects. Sorgent.e has also recently been awarded a contract valued at over $9M to execute the El Paso hydroelectric power plant in Colchagua province.
