Stoplogs to be refurbished at John W. Keys III plant, US

6 September 2011

Work involves removing the original steel stoplogs that were installed in 1946 which are about 17ft wide and 10ft tall, each weighing up to 25,500 pounds.

This refurbishment also includes installing a redesigned seal system to replace the original wood seal system.

The project is being funded by the three Columbia Basin irrigation districts, Bonneville Power Administration, and USBR appropriated funding.

Work is expected to be completed by mid-December 2011.
