The Sweden-headquartered consultant said the contract was to act as the Owner's Engineer, and is worth more than Euro5M (US$7.4M). The owner is Theun Hinboun Power Corp (THPC).
Responsibilities in the contract include design review, contract management and construction supervision. The assignment follows from Sweco's earlier work on the feasibility study and tender documentation for the expansion project.
The expansion project will see construction of two new plants of 220MW and 60MW installed capacities. The civils works include construction of a 70m high RCC dam an a 6km-long headrace tunnel.
