Tanzania economy to get hydro output boost - IMF

In recent years, hydro output has been down due to poor hydrology at a time of rapid industrial growth and power demand. Many businesses had to turn to thermal power, whch has been relatively more expensive than average due to high oil prices worldwide.

Real gross domestic product suffered, IMF stated, but it expects that going forward the improvement in hydrology will improve the fortunes in the hydro sector and also the national economy.
