The contract is to include the supply of 12 sets of three phase 840MVA/550KV power transformers, which are to be manufactured at ABB’s Chinese facilities in Chongqing in the south west of the country.
The company has picked up further sub-contracts for the supply of 500kV gas insulated switchgear (GIS) to the Three Gorges project on behalf of Xian High Voltage Switchgear Co and New Northeast Electric (Shenyang) High Voltage Switchgear Co, with deliveries expected in 2006.
