Toshiba to supply Upper Yeywa project, Myanmar

Toshiba Corporation's Chinese subsidiary, Toshiba Hydro Power (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd (THPC), is to supply four 77MW hydro turbine and generator sets for the 308MW Upper Yeywa hydro plant in Myanmar.

In a contract awarded by Myanmar Electric Power Enterprise, the company will start delivering the units in March 2016.

The order is the second commission for Toshiba in Myanmar, with the company having previously supplied the hydraulic turbine for the 28.4MW Sedawgyi hydroelectric power plant in 1989.
