TransCanada looks to sell hydro facilities

29 March 2016

TransCanada is planning to sell hydro facilities with a combined capacity of 560MW to help fund a planned acquisition of Columbia Pipeline Group, newswires have reported.

The company would look to sell projects on the Connecticut and Deerfield Rivers, along with associated land in New Hampshire, Vermont and Massachusetts. The facilities in question were those acquired by the firm back in 2005 from USGen New England, news outlets said.

The deal is subject to shareholder approval.
