Tribes ink Tudaya agreement with Hedcor

4 February 2011

Under the terms of the agreement, the Bagobo-Tagabawas will benefit from the project through employment opportunities and an annual royalty of P0.01 per kwh of energy generated. In addition Hedcor will carry out projects focused on primary health, livelihood and infrastructure, and provide an environmental guarantee fund.

The Tudaya project will rise in Sta. Cruz with a capacity of 13.6MW, harnessing the Sibulan river to produce an estimated of 77mkWh of renewable energy.

Aside from this project, and the recently inaugurated 42.5MW Sibulan plant, Hedcor is currently exploring more rivers as potential run-of-river hydropower sites in Luzon and Mindanao with an expected capacity of more than 100MW in four years.

A wholly-owned subsidiary of AboitizPower, Hedcor is the largest developer of run-of-river hydropower generating facilities in the Philippines.
