The British Hydropower Association (BHA) has welcomed the new 100-500kW hydro band for the Feed-in Tariff recently announced by the UK Government.
The Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC) has confirmed the European Commission approval of the notification of State Aid for the changes to the FiTs scheme resulting from Phase 2B of the Comprehensive Review.
"It has been a long and frustrating wait, but this is great news, which will improve the viability of a good number of sites in this range," commented BHA CEO, David Williams.
The introduction of the new hydro band is effective from 15 March 2013.
