UK Minister urges youth to join construction workforce

16 October 2002

Speaking at the end on National Construction Week to over 250 14-15 year olds at a UK school, Wilson highlighted the importance of the construction industry to business and society, and urged youngsters to forge a career in such a highly skilled and essential profession.

Addressing the 'Movement for Innovation' workshop for school-leavers, Wilson said: 'The construction industry is vital to the success of the UK, both commercially and socially…where better can the maths, science, design and technology skills you learn in the classroom be used in real life?'
