Update on Romaine project

29 April 2005

Hydro-Québec, a provincially owned utility, plans to build the hydro project on the Romaine river, in the lower north shore region, near the municipality of Havre-Saint-Pierre. This complex would include four generating stations and the creation of reservoirs covering a total area of approximately 275km2. The project would also include the construction of an access road of approximately 160km which would link Highway 138 to the complex.
