The 250MW plant, located on the river Drin, is having an overhaul of all of its five turbines. In addition, a control and monitoring system is being installed, as well as civil works.
The completion date, announced by KESH, will see turbine 1 modernised - the last step in a project that began in 2004.
This overhaul project is part of a wider US$50M scheme, incorporating the three other hydro units that make up the Drin cascade: Fierze, Ulez and Shkopet.
