US districts buy hydro

1 January 2003

The power output of the lake hydro project, south of Mount Rainier in Washington, US, has been bought by the Benton and Franklin Public Utility Districts (PUDs).

The facility generates an average of 10MW of power, which will be shared by the two utilities.

Under the new power sales agreement, Benton and Franklin PUDs will buy energy from the project for 2.5 cents per kWh.
