Resident Civil Engineer - Hydropower (Nepal)
The client is a leading International Consultancy and urgently require a replacement Resident Engineer for its Hydropower Project in Nepal. The client approval process is very stringent; therefore successful candidates MUST meet the minimum requirements below:

• Bachelors/ Master's Degree in related field and professional experience over 20 years.
• More than 10 years' experience in hydropower projects and experience as RE in more than two hydropower projects of installed capacity 80MW or above.
• More than 8 years working experience in overseas/country (outside the home country) with more than 5 years in a developed country.

Salary: Up to US$14000 Per Month + housing, accommodation and travel. Mobilization: April 2014.

Senior Hydro-Mechanical Engineer - Malaysia
ewi is urgently recruiting for the position of Hydro-Mechanical Engineer for a Hydropower Project in Malaysia. The project is on-going and is to replace the current Senior Mechanical Engineer, with another 18-24 Months remaining. You will ideally have both Design and Construction Supervision experience, with an emphasis toward Supervision. Particular experience with underground structures and Pelton Turbines would be beneficial.

The client requires somebody that has worked on similar projects previously and ideally in the South Asia Region.

The start date is April 2014. Salary is up to US$13000 per months plus expat benefits including housing and transport.

Tunnel Design Engineer- Rock Mechanics
Seeking a Senior Design Engineer/Tunnel Engineer to join a large consulting engineering business to oversee Tunnelling and underground works on a number of key projects across South East Asia and overseas.

Engineer will be based in KL, Malaysia and will be tasked with managing a small design team and/or working as part of a larger design unit depending on the size of specific projects.

This is a permanent role focused on hard rock tunnel design using mostly drill & blast but also NATM and TBM related excavation methods. As such applicants must be experienced in hard rock tunnel design particularly on hydropower, water and utilities related tunnelling projects.

Main areas of focus will be within the Tunnelling, Shafts and underground elements of projects including: D&B tunnels; Cut and cover tunnels; Remote tunneling; Shafts and linings; Foundations; Geotechnical design & Rock mechanics.

The role will be a lead in design teams for specific sections and packages on multiple projects. They will be mentoring the younger engineers in their day-to-day design activities. Role will communicate with the end client on many occasions regarding their specifications and ensuring all works are in line with the project guidelines.

Experience with a mixture of design activities with a focus on Tunnels is essential. MUST be a tunnelling specialist and have a proven track record on design projects.

Ideal candidates will have a civil engineering qualification and a strong technical know how in the design of underground structures, tunnels and concrete linings on very large projects. Chartered status will be an advantage however not essential.
