16 June 2011

In a statement, Velcan Energy said the exact number of CER’s generated by the project will depend on a number of technical factors, but the hydropower developer estimates that it should be in the range of 15 to 20 thousands tons per year. The current price of a CER is approximately EUR12 per ton.

The Rodeio Bonito project is the first hydropower scheme commissioned by Velcan Energy in Brazil. The company currently owns the rights to more than 600MW of concessions and projects in India, Brazil and Laos.
