Beyhan-1 is located on the Murat River. It is scheduled for commissioning in January 2015 and will assure reliable and green energy supply for around 400,000 households in the Elazig region.

The new generators to be supplied will each have an output of 235MVA, an outer diameter of 13.5m, and 7.9m of height.

Beyhan-1 is the first within a scheme of four new hydro plants in Elazig Province. Voith also supplies the excitation and monitoring systems necessary for the operation of the respective generators.

“We have been able to establish ourselves as a strong partner for our customers in Turkey,” said Dr. Leopold Heninger, Chief Executive Officer of Voith Hydro in St. Pölten, Austria. “With this large scale project we are further strengthening our position as a leading hydro power supplier in this country.”
