According to the International Sediment Initiative (ISI), sedimentation issues are often ignored because the scale of the problem can seem too overwhelming. Recent research by ISI is working towards creating a holistic approach to the remediation and conservation of surface waters, with the management of dams and reservoirs playing a key part.
