Theoretical study of the hydraulic jump in a triangular channel with rough walls

26 October 2011

This paper presents, from both a theoretical and experimental point of view, the hydraulic jump in a horizontal symmetrical triangular channel with rough walls and a 90° central angle. The study investigates the effect of the walls roughness on the sequent depth ratio, and a theoretical relation has been proposed for the inflow Froude number as a function of the sequent depth ratio and roughness parameter, which has been determined using the experimental data.
