Anderson Ranch contract awarded

3 January 2006

The work involves the installation and testing of new static exciters for two 20MW hydroelectric generators. The work is expected to be completed by 31 March 2007.

Anderson Ranch dam was completed in 1950; it serves as a multiple-purpose structure that provides benefits for irrigation, power, and flood and silt control. The power plant supplies power to irrigation loads in the Boise, Owyhee, and Minidoka projects as part of the USBR’s Southern Idaho Power System. Surplus power is delivered to the Bonneville Power Administration for marketing and distribution to regional industries and municipalities.
