Ukrhydroenergo and Turkish construction company DOĞUŞ İNŞAAT VE TİCARET A.Ş. have renewed cooperation agreements aimed at supporting the recovery and expansion of Ukraine’s hydropower sector.
The agreements, signed during the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC) 2026 in Poland, extend an existing Memorandum of Cooperation and Agreement on Protection of Confidential Information between the two companies.
The renewed framework covers cooperation on a number of projects, including the construction of the Kaniv Pumped Storage Power Plant (PSPP), the third stage of the Dniester PSPP, the restoration of the Kakhovka Hydropower Plant and the modernization of the Dniester Hydropower Plant (HPP).
The companies said the partnership would involve the exchange of technical information, expertise and experience needed to prepare and deliver the projects. It is also intended to support the use of international best practices and attract investment for Ukraine’s hydropower sector.
“The recovery and development of Ukraine’s hydropower sector require the combined strength of experience, advanced technologies, and international partnership,” commented Ukrhydroenergo CEO Bogdan Sukhetskyi. “The documents we have signed today establish a solid foundation for practical cooperation on projects that are of strategic importance to Ukraine’s energy security. We are committed to partnerships built on professional expertise, mutual trust, and a shared ambition to deliver modern infrastructure solutions.”
Serkan Misirlioglu, Vice Chairman of Doğuş Construction, added: “For more than 22 years, Doğuş Construction has proudly stood alongside Ukraine, contributing to the country’s infrastructure development. Even throughout the challenges of the war, we never left Ukraine. Our commitment has always been demonstrated through actions, not just words, and we will continue to support Ukraine’s recovery and long-term development.
“Today, Ukraine is going through difficult times, but we firmly believe that brighter days are ahead. Ukraine has an outstanding future, and we are proud to help shape that future together with our trusted partners,” he added. “With the successful delivery of 21 hydropower plants worldwide, including the operation of two facilities, Doğuş Construction brings extensive technical expertise and decades of experience to this partnership. It is an honor to work alongside Ukrhydroenergo, one of Ukraine’s most strategic state institutions. Together, we are committed to delivering world-class hydropower projects that will strengthen Ukraine’s energy security, accelerate its recovery, and create lasting value for future generations.”
