TC Energy has selected Worley to support the next phase of development of the Ontario Pumped Storage Project, with EllisDon and AECOM also joining the project team.
Worley will lead the team in advancing detailed engineering and project design, cost estimates, execution planning and overall project readiness as the pumped storage development moves through its planning and development phase.

The Ontario Pumped Storage Project is planned as a large-scale energy storage development intended to support grid reliability and Ontario’s growing electricity requirements. TC Energy says it has the potential to become one of the province’s largest energy storage projects.
Worley will bring engineering, procurement and construction experience to the development, working alongside EllisDon and AECOM.

Development work will also be carried out through TC Energy’s Hire and Buy Local Program. Under the programme, Worley, EllisDon and AECOM will seek to use local and Indigenous workers, suppliers, services and businesses where practical. TC Energy said these requirements will be incorporated into the project and performance tracked during execution.

The project team said the approach is intended to support skilled trades and professional services in Ontario while increasing Indigenous and community participation and the use of Canadian supply chains.
