The UK£28M Wave Hub project to be located off the coast of Cornwall in South West England - the world's first large scale wave farm - has cleared its last major regulatory hurdle after the UK Government gave planning permission for the scheme.

Australia-based Oceanlinx Limited has been chosen as the fourth developer for the £28M (US$56M) Wave Hub project off the coast of Cornwall in South West England.

The world's largest wave farm planned off Hayle on the coast of Cornwall in South West England has been approved for £21.5M (US$43M) of funding. The project will include a 16km cable linking the national transmission grid to the offshore hub allowing companies to test wave energy devices in a leased and consented area of sea. Devices connected to the hub could generate up to 20MW.
