A loan of US$35M is being requested for the project by Electricite du Laos, which proposes to have an installed capacity of approximately 240MW at the plant.
The project loan received concept clearance from the bank last month, and fact-finding was then undertaken. ADB plans to appraise the data from the fact-finding next month.
While no date has yet been given for the findings of the review to be issued, the application is in the pipeline for potential approval in 2010.
