AFRY has announced it provided technical advisory services to EnfraGen in the acquisition of a 188MW renewable portfolio comprising hydro, wind, and solar power assets in Panama and Costa Rica. As a result of this successful transaction, EnfraGen was awarded “Acquisition Deal of the Year”.
EnfraGen, jointly controlled by Glenfarne Energy Transition, LLC and the global private markets investment manager Partners Group, is a leading company in grid stability and value-added renewable energy infrastructure in Latin America.
EnfraGen's acquisition of six operational renewable assets from Celsia S.A. was hailed as the "Acquisition Deal of the Year" for the Americas by Project Finance International (PFI). This recognition underscores EnfraGen's management of complex financing processes, encompassing the acquisition of the renewable energy portfolio in Central America and the refinancing of a previous facility, while also underscoring their commitment to transitioning to zero-carbon emission electrical grids.
AFRY conducted thorough technical due diligence on the renewable power assets to assess the operational efficiency and sustainability of the portfolio, and evaluated the potential of the assets.
AFRY has been supporting EnfraGen since 2016 conducting technical due diligence services on several portfolios of assets across the Americas, and providing technical advisory in the renewable energy market.
“Our competencies and focus on sustainable energy infrastructure have been instrumental in moving towards the closing of the deal,” commented Angel Arancibia, Commercial Manager, AFRY Chile. “We are proud of our continued collaboration with EnfraGen and congratulate them on this prestigious award that recognises the commitment to advancing the renewable energy development and grid stability in the region.”
