International technology group ANDRITZ has been awarded a contract by Limak Enerji Uretim Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S., a subsidiary of Limak Renewable Energy, to supply electromechanical equipment for the Incir hydropower plant in Turkey.

The contract, valued in the mid-double-digit million-euro range, covers the engineering, manufacturing, delivery, installation, and commissioning of two Francis turbine-generator sets and an ECO-flow unit. The total installed capacity of the plant will be 124MW.

The turbines, developed and tested in ANDRITZ’s hydraulic laboratory, will each generate up to 57MW, with the ECO-flow unit adding another 10MW. Each turbine is designed for a maximum head of 135m and a rated speed of 300 rpm.

Limak Renewable Energy is one of Türkiye’s major renewable energy companies. The Incir project aligns with the country’s renewable energy goals. Turkey currently holds the second-largest installed hydropower capacity in Europe after Norway, with renewables accounting for 69GW – about 60% of the country’s total 118GW capacity.

“With this contract, ANDRITZ further strengthens its role in Türkiye’s green transition and deepens its long-standing partnership with Limak Renewable Energy,” the company stated. The deal marks over two decades of collaboration between the two firms.
